Many of us are both mothers and daughters and know how complicated these relationships can be. The central figure is surrounded on one side her by her daughter, and on the other side by her mother. All of the figures have twists and distortions that can use some loving attention. They are connected by proximity and also the central line of DNA.

The third print emphasizes how I see the mother figure as a symbol for the past, and the daughter, a symbol of the future. The central figure is the only "living" color just as the present moment is the only time that we are alive.
